Profile & Photos

Here at PatiBell, we're serious about security, so we include a "session time-out" feature that automatically signs you out if you've been on the same screen for more than 60 minutes. This ensures that if you sign in and later get up and walk away from your computer another person won't be able to sit down and access your account.

This requires a level of caution, though, when you're filling in your profile text or typing an email on the site because a session time-out could result in your hard work being lost. When working on profile text, you might want to compose in a word processing application where you can save your progress, then copy and paste the result into the PatiBell text box you're working on.

Guidelines for Posting a Photo

Good photos can really make your profile stand out, so we strongly encourage you to post one. We do currently limit you to 1 photo. If you already have 1 photo and you want to upload a new one, you’ll need to update/change it.

We reserve the right in our soul discretion to crop or reject photos as we deem necessary in order to maintain a clean, attractive, and respectable atmosphere and community on the site. Once your photo is approved, they will appear on the site.

Here are some reasons photos could be rejected:

  • Nudity, sheer or see-through clothing, sexuality
  • Drawings, caricatures, or other illustrations
  • Copyrighted images
  • Identifying information (ie, license plates, email or web addresses, visible street address numbers, etc.)
  • Illegal acts or violence
  • Minors alone in photos (without an adult included)

Guidelines for Primary photo:

  • Your Primary photo must include a good, unobstructed view of your face that's big enough for potential compatible individuals to see you clearly.
  • There shouldn’t be any other people in the photo.
  • If a photo was taken from further away and shows more of your body, we’ll make a thumbnail that just shows your face.
  • Even if a photo has a clear view of your face, it might still be too small to use as a Primary photo.

Also keep in mind the following:

  • You must appear in the Primary photo.
  • Potentially offensive photos will not be posted.
  • Image files must be received in an approved format (eg, jpg, png, gif) and should be larger than 100kB and less than 2MB.

Guidelines For Captions and headings:

  • No obscene, profane, or offensive words or statements
  • No references to illegal activity
  • No captions that are merely gibberish

Your profile photo is usually the first impression people have of you on PatiBell, so it’s important to pick a photo that represents you well.

When choosing your main profile photo, consider these helpful tips:

  • Use a clear, recent photo
Make sure to use a recent photo that’s clear, not one that’s blurry or out of focus. Also, don’t pick a photo where you’re far away from the camera. Photos cropped to your shoulders work best.

  • Use photos of only you
Remember, people on PatiBell don’t know you yet so if you have other friends or family members in your photo people won’t know who you are. Use a photo where you’re alone for your main profile picture and use the photos of you with friends or family for your additional pictures.

  • Be yourself!
Remember that people want to get to know you. If you like the outdoors, try using an outdoor photo. If you have a favorite sports team, use a photo of yourself at a game. Have fun with it and be yourself.
